Product Description
Working principle of belt filter press
1. The slurry is conveyed via a conveyor to the hopper of the RBYL.
2. Distribute evenly onto the filter belt using a screw conveyor.
3. As the equipment operates, the sludge layer ensures that the material thickness is completely uniform.
4. The sludge is fully sandwiched between two annular filter belts and squeezed by the drive rollers, enabling a substantial amount of water to be expelled from the dewatering zone.
5. Based on the characteristics of the slurry, the extrusion force can be automatically adjusted to meet the customer’s requirements for material moisture content.
Advantages of belt filter presses:
1. It is energy-efficient, with low power consumption, and easy to maintain, resulting in low operating costs over the long term.
2. Sludge treatment requires only a small dosage, resulting in low chemical costs.
3. High degree of automation, electrically controlled, simple and easy to operate; the filtered sludge cake is relatively dry with low moisture content. Sludge recovery rate is 98%, meeting environmental protection requirements.
4. High throughput: a single unit can produce 6–8 tons of dry sludge per hour, or even more. The higher the slurry concentration, the greater the treatment efficiency, the larger the processing capacity, and the lower the operating costs.
Working principle of the belt filter press:
1. Gravity Dewatering Zone
The sludge is pumped into a sludge mixing tank, where it is blended with a polymeric flocculant. This causes the fine suspended particles in the sludge to aggregate into larger, latex‑like flocs through the bridging action of the polymer. Under the bidirectional guidance and scouring of the sludge rake, as well as the influence of gravity, the sludge moves along the filter cloth and rapidly loses its free water.
2. Pressure Dewatering Zone
After gravity dewatering, the concentrated sludge is conveyed by a reversing mechanism to the gravity‑dewatering section of the belt filter press for further dewatering. Once the sludge moves from the gravity‑dewatering zone into the pressure‑dewatering zone, the upper and lower filter cloths progressively compress the sludge, facilitating additional dewatering.
3. Pressurized Dewatering Zone
The sludge moves with the filter cloth into the pressurized dewatering zone; after pressure dewatering, it enters the S‑shaped squeezing section. In this section, the sludge is sandwiched between six vertically arranged rollers, whose diameters decrease progressively from large to small, while the applied pressure increases gradually. As the upper and lower filter cloths alternately shift positions between the rollers, they exert continuous pressure on the sludge, further dewatering the sludge cake. Finally, a scraper removes the sludge cake, while the upper and lower conveyor belts are continuously and automatically cleaned during operation.
