Working principle
  The JM-type yeast vacuum drum filter operates on essentially the same principle as a conventional vacuum drum filter, with the main difference being that its drum lacks chambers and the filtration zone is not divided into compartments. Prior to filtration, a precoat—typically composed of materials such as potato starch—must be applied; filtration is then carried out using both this precoat and a stainless‑steel filter cloth. Under vacuum suction, the outer surface of the drum gradually accumulates the required thickness of precoat. The yeast slurry to be filtered is then introduced, and filtration commences under vacuum. The liquid is drawn into the drum’s internal channels and removed, while the yeast particles in the suspension are adsorbed onto the precoat surface. A mechanical scraper advances automatically, continuously removing the yeast cake; when the scraper reaches 5–6 mm from the drum surface, it stops advancing, retracts, and the drum is re‑precoated, initiating the next operating cycle.
