Precoat filters are primarily suited for applications where the filtrate is desired and the filter cake is not.

　　The YT-type pre-coating vacuum drum filter is a filtration device independently developed and engineered by drawing on the advanced technologies of similar products from foreign manufacturers. It is an efficient, high-precision solid–liquid separation unit that builds upon the conventional drum filter by incorporating a pre-coating process. Its diversified design philosophy and meticulous manufacturing processes have ensured its widespread adoption across industries such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, sugar production, and chemicals. This product is particularly well suited for applications where the filtrate is desired while the filter cake is to be discarded.
Working principle
　　The operating principle of the YT-type rotary drum filter is essentially the same as that of a conventional vacuum rotary drum filter. The primary difference lies in the pre-coating step, during which a filtration aid—such as diatomaceous earth or perlite—is applied prior to filtration. Under vacuum suction, the filtration aid within the tank forms a pre‑coat of the desired thickness on the outer surface of the rotating drum. Subsequently, the slurry to be filtered is introduced; under vacuum, the clarified filtrate passes through the pre‑coat and the filter cloth, flowing out via the suction pipe, collection pipe, and vapor–liquid separator. Meanwhile, the solid particles in the slurry are retained by the pre‑coat, while an automatically fed scraper continuously removes the top layer of the filtration aid. When the residual thickness of the pre‑coat reaches approximately 10 mm, a new pre‑coat must be applied to initiate the next operating cycle.
